Reader's Letters Page BACK TO HOME : ARCHIVE INDEX
Every week we will publish a selection of reader's e-mails along with the Committee's response. So keep these mails coming in folks.
Hello to all our readers - of our Readers Letters Page. First this week a rather abrupt message from one of (in fact our only) Smokie member.

Dear Mr Smart,
For someone who "can't get to the pub as often as I would like" I have to say that you do a damn fine job, despite the fact that you live in Smokieland. I have to go into the Clubhouse every day, purely in an official capacity you understand, and you are invariably there! This notwithstanding, you are right in criticising the person responsible (who shall remain nameless) for updating the site, despite our well-publicised computer problems. We are however extremely gratified that you find the website so indispensable in your life and please be assured, Gordon, that from now on, the site will be up-dated on a regular basis. We look forward to hearing from you further.
Yours appreciatively, THE COMMITTEE.
And now - following a recent visit across the Pond by one of our members (who shall remain nameless) - a controversial mail from one of our old mates who Rodney met for lunch and now plys his trade in downtown San Francisco. Controversial in the sense that Steve Logan feels his position as Pro is under threat and has gone in the huff !

Hi Bruce,
Great to hear from you
after all this time - which in fact just seems like yesterday! If I remember
rightly you have had more than a couple of beers in the Station when we were
younger! I will most certainly pass on your sentiments to Steve Logan but you
must understand, he is under a great deal of pressure at the moment. I believe
it all stems from the fact that since I was no longer able to partner him for
the regular Sunday morning game against Dez and Elliot, he has hardly won a
single match, despite a succession of different partners! We fear that your
fantastic offer to become involved in some way with our Club may push him over
the edge. Anyway, if we have a new Pro - who cares? I'm
sure therefore you will agree we must tread warily! Great to hear from you - be
in touch shortly.
Yours reminiscingly, Vice-Captain Simpson.
KEEP THE MAILS COMING IN FOLKS - MORE NEXT WEEK
