Hi Jim,
I see there has been nothing new on this page for just over a month.
Why?

Yours' Innes G Horne.

Dear Innes,

It is so nice to hear from you again. We can only assume that the absence of Reader's  Letters indicates that there are absolutely no complaints from the Membership, which in turn indicates that the Committee is, as one would expect, running an extremely tight ship where all our members exist in state of perpetual euphoria (you know what we mean Innes?). Anyway, you will be pleased to know that we have photographic evidence which proves that your father is indeed far superior to Captain Campbell in the horticultural arena. This will be published in due course. In the meantime - keep logging on........

Yours. THE COMMITTEE.

Dear Editor,

I have just returned from holiday and read the letters page.   What do I find?   The Hon Sec writing to A DOG!
What is going on up there?   Now I know Max quite well and he is indeed an intelligent dog but I'm fairly certain he can't read.   Perhaps his stick thrower will read the message to him.   Maybe he should be invited to play in the Monthly Medal (Max -not the Hon Sec).   He'd be okay on the "dog legs" and if his ball was in the "ruff, ruff, ruff" he'd be fine.   Would he tee-off using a T-bone?   You would all get a shock if he took the "lead".   Any chance of some sensible Readers Letters?

Yours doggedly,

Gus Holland
Overseas Member

Dear Angus,

We have to say that we find the tone of your letter rather disconcerting. The Committee has always found Max to be extremely lucid and trustworthy, compared to his rather 'woolyheaded' owner, who shall remain nameless. The fact that your brother Neil manages to hold down a responsible job in the north east is a mystery to us. Max, on the other hand, never complains, comes into the Clubhouse, minds his own business and is very supportive of the Committee (unlike your sibling). To add insult to injury, the Captain can't play in our bi-annual Station Masters Autumn outing - why - he is going on holiday.....again!

Thanks for your letter Angus, please feel free to write again.

Yours, THE ED.
