Games Afternoon success

Snowy conditions outside did little to dampen the enthusiasm of the members who took part in our hastily arranged 'Games Afternoon' in the Club following the cancellation of the annual Texas Scramble. A large turnout honed their skills in the challenging games of pool, dominoes and pitching into a target net thingymajig. Notable 'no-shows' were the former Captain and former Hon Secretary who cited blindness and alcoholic poisoning respectively as pathetic excuses. Our new secretary, Mr Coutie ran the proceedings with a 'fist of putty', delaying the draw until everyone had had several drinks, thus ensuring that he and his partner Burnett junior could somehow wangle the bones championship! A delicious mid-afternoon snack of peh and beans was served up courtesy of Ivor, which resulted in the DCs (Stan and co) feeling right at home. Competition was fierce among the teams who took part:

1) Simpson & Gamak  2) Norrie & Rutherford  3) D Phinn & G Smart  4) N Reid & A Gilbride  5) P Coutie & I Burnett  6) A Clark & P Phinn  7) S Shepherd & R Neilson  8) D Morton & B Morton  9) J Fulton & J Fulton

Eventual winners were:
