"Hi, Steve Logan here. Last time I concentrated on the often overlooked technical aspect of the game - 'Gripping the club'. Before I move on to this week's Hint, once again it never fails to amaze me just how popular my page has become, not only with Master's members but also their families. Here is just a sample of some of the responses I received last week:

"Dear Steve, My husband and I were in your lovely clubhouse last weekend and everything was perfect apart from the white wine. Had my husband treated me to a bar meal I could easily have poured the wine over the chips and not noticed that there was no vinegar. I asked the head bar steward if the Committee would consider stocking a cheeky Chardonnay or a succulent Sauvignon Blanc but he told me that if I wasn't happy I could go to the Kinloch. Is there anything you can do to help?".

"Dear Steven, I felt I had to get in touch to let you know how wonderful life is for me at the moment. Dad has been trying out your Helpful Hints and is much more relaxed than he has been for years. Mum says its the amount of red wine he drinks, but I'm sure its because he is more confident with his game. In fact he hasn't even threatened to put me down recently.

Now that I come to think of it I can actually sense a worrying trend developing in the content of the letters I have been receiving. Yes - perhaps members are becoming too hung up with practicing my Helpful Hints rather than relaxing with a nice glass of wine. Anyway - bottoms up!  STEVE

ANYWAY - on to my Helpful Hint for this week and I can say that this HH will revolutionise your game - 

'LEFT FOOT FORWARD'

Over the years the 'LEFT FOOT FORWARD' routine has brought me great success and many trophies. My past Sunday morning playing partners, to name but a few; Vice Capt Simpson, Scott Mann and Simon Davie, have all accomplished triumphant victories and gone on to greater things. The reason they do not partner me now is because of the poor opposition on a Sunday morning.  Elliot 'the cat' after at least a baker's dozen the previous evening and Dez '11 wood' Muir, pay scant regard to my Helpful Hints hence their lack of recent success. Conversely, my new partner, the lovely Pete C, not long ago won a major title (The Station Masters Doubles with Tommy Horne) due to my ‘Left Foot Forward’ hint. Study the photograph below and note the position of my left foot".

"So REMEMBER Left Foot Forward".
