Station Masters veteran bags first ace.
Station Masters veteran, Arliss Rhind
claimed his first ever hole-in-one at the extremely difficult 175 yard, 13th
'Marne'
hole
on the Buddon course. Playing in the Masters weekly sweepie with usual partner
Dave Ritchie against the formidable Tam Paterson and John Gamack, Arliss
holed-out, using a 7-iron into a stiff breeze. This 'ace' comes hot-on-the-heels
of that achieved in a Masters tie by local sparkie, Rab Low, only a few weeks
ago. In the clubhouse after his round, Arliss excitedly recounted his shot to a
spell-bound audience. Unfortunately however, in his exuberance, Arliss seemed to
forget the time-honoured tradition of buying the company (including the
stressed-out barman), a drink, in celebration of his feat........
Only joking Arliss - WELL DONE!
Scene nearly set for greatest golf challenge
Carnoustie Golf Links is almost ready to
receive the world's golfing elite. Tiger has had his bairn and is reported to be
ready to play, Garcia probably won't be crying as he leaves the 18th green this
time, and Monty might manage at least one smile. Who knows, Jean Van de Velde
may shock us all... again. Whatever happens, its sure to be a great spectacle
and for all our overseas members who can't make it over - unlucky!
New temporary advice spot hits the site
