Club secretary ties the knot
Unless you have been out of the Country
or in a coma for the past few weeks you will know that our 'larger than life'
secretary,
Elliot (the cat) Davie and his sweetheart Barbara have finally been hitched. A
large contingent of family and friends made merry at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel
until the 'early hours', followed by several further days of distinctly
unmarried-like celebration by the groom himself! Best wishes to Elliot and
Barbara from all at the Club.

Members enjoy Turnberry hospitality
Lucky Station Masters members enjoyed
an action-packed day out at the recent Turnberry 'Open' in Aryshire. The boys
were
treated to
the VIP occasion courtesy of Masters members and hospitality experts Ronnie
Bennett and Jim Welsh. The 10 pioneers left Carnoustie on the 6.15am train,
which even big Willie managed to get out of his scratcher to catch. 'Green
tractorman' Nor Reid provided the breakfast of rolls with sausage as the group
made their way to Weegieland for the on-going trip to Turnberry. Outing
organiser and travel co-ordinator Andrew Gilbride did a brilliant job in not
losing any bodies throughout the day, although sources have revealed that 'hedgeman'
John Gamack came pretty close to falling by the wayside before staging a late
recovery! Many thanks to Ronnie for a great day out.
Jessica in the news again
15
year old Jessica Meek made the news again when she reached the quarter finals of
the Scottish Girls championship at Lanark Golf Club last week. Jessica, who
qualified 29th out of 32, beat No 3 seed Hannah McCook (Abernethy) 3 and 2 and
then went on to win 2 and 1 against Natasha Qayum (Ranfurly Castle) to reach the
quarters. Unfortunately, Jessica lost narrowly to Tain's Sammy Vass, who went on
to play in the final.
