New look to Committee
A well attended Annual General Meeting last month saw some changes made to the old-guard. No change at the top with Evelyn Christieson remaining as Hon President. Ex Captain Walter Campbell retired after his two year stint but unfortunately he was not to go quietly - some mis-guided individuals had nominated him for the post of Honourary Captain which was carried unanimously. Jim Simpson graciously accepted the post of Club Captain, whilst 'new kid on the block', Captain Neil Holland, was voted in as Vice Captain. There was no change to the other office bearers with Elliot Davie remaining as Hon Secretary and Andy Gilbride as Treasurer / Match Secretary. Iain Chaplain remained as an ordinary committee member while Tom Paterson stood down in favour of 'a younger face'. To be honest - any face is younger than Tommy's! Erstwhile troublemaker, Peter Coutie was subsequently co-opted on to the committee in the remaining seat. All new representatives were at pains to stress that they will rule (sorry officiate) in the spirit of openness and parity which has characterised the Committee to date and that any complaints from ordinary club members will be dealt with in the normal fashion!
